At least when we get to the CMD the LPD fans, especially Burton's, will have a better reason to cheer against GC in the Regions.
Why just Burton fans....... You all aren't even one of our biggest rivals.... I could care less what they do next year, it won't affect us any.
Considering the major sport in this area is Football, and GC has only won 1 State Championship since they came in..and has recently been dominated by PV, and this year only beat kelly, pound and coeburn out of the district...I'd say you guys are glad to get to go to the CMD. I can't blame ya.

lost 6 games in 6 years in basketball, girls bball title, volleyball titles, multiple state team champs in girls tennis, individual titles in boys and girls tennis, multiple individual track titles, baseball final fours and runner-ups, softball titles...yeah, i can't wait til we get out of the big bad LPD [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]
Well considering they came in loaded and choked 2 of the 1st 3 years they were in the playofs after joining the district...i guess 1 out of 3 ain't bad..lol. They came in loaded and they're going out defeated.
In south west virginia...if it's not football who really cares. I'm sure everyone cares if ya won state in tennis. lol...whatever...That's usually the argument for schools that can no longer beat ya in football...lol...well we're good in track..or well we're good in gril's sports. Gimme a break.

yeah and as my memory recalls burton put a heck of a beating on GC this past year in football, we beat you all in basketball and ruined yalls perfect season in the lpd and talkin bout winning in tennis burton boys have won the past 6 lpd championships past 4 region championships and been in the state finals 2 out of 4 years

the fact you have to bring up a single win over gc and call it an accomplishment only furthers my own point...
and all those state title appearances, yet the only school in the LPD with state champions in tennis has been gate city

All I'm getting at is that for years all we heard was "well GC has to go up the road to play better teams" and all of that trash. After the drop down to single A they had a crew of holdbacks, and were loaded. According to all of the trash they talked you would have thought they would have dominated ALL teams in the LPD in football and win some hardware. They won 1. With all that mouth one would think they could have done better than that. But, I seem to remember in the late 90's Appy, PV, and GC all won state. The funny thing was PV was undefeated...Appy lost 1 (only PV), and GC lost to both of 'em. So they could win Div. 3 but couldn't beat EITHER single A team. Should have been an omen. So crow about you superiority all ya want. The way I see it, if y'all were as good as ya crow u'd have won more than ya did...and that a$$ wouldn't have gotten spanked like it did on your way out.

I agree we had a tough year in FB, but you can't say that GC fans were on here trying to pretend we were what we weren't. And I think we've more than done out share of spanking also. Before PV's 5 in a row what did GC do to them? 5 or 6 in a row? PV and GC in FB go in trends, you can look over the years. GC may have another rough season next year, I don't know. But I feel they will get better in a couple more seasons.

Yeah, a real fine exit in Basketball as you must have missed the Blue Devil victory over the Raiders for the LPD Tourney Title. Hopefully we can meet again. But it's a long road til then and some darn good ball teams to face.
